D1SP in Action

Account managers at ACE company create a monthly price list from their PCs and upload to MOSS. The company wants to protect the price list files in accordance with their trade secrets and internal pricing policies.

• Challenge 1 : An account manager downloads the price list from MOSS, creates multiple copies, and emails the documents to other departments.

  Solution 1 : D1SP automatically encrypts files upon download and controls the use of the encrypted files. For example, D1SP can allow the managers to open the price list while disallowing access from other departments. As a result, D1SP-encrypted files are only accessed and used by authorized users with appropriate authorizations.

• Challenge 2 : A manager at a finance department opens the price list downloaded from MOSS and attempts to capture screen shots of the content to include in his general report.

  Solution 2 : D1SP blocks any unauthorized screenshots of D1SP-encrypted documents. Any capturing measures using hot keys, screenshot tools and virtual machines are perfectly blocked when the user lacks appropriate authorization.
